About The Provider

Originally from Spokane, Washington, Dr. McCoy recently completed an adult reconstruction fellowship specializing in hip and knee total joint arthroplasty at The CORE Institute in Phoenix, Arizona. Dr. McCoy has the most up-to-date training with minimally invasive and muscle-sparing surgical techniques while using state-of-the-art technology and equipment to assist in achieving the best possible results for surgery. This includes extensive training in robotics and other advances on the forefront of joint preservation and replacement surgery. In addition to implementing these technical advances, Dr. McCoy utilizes current, evidence-based strategies to best control patient pain before, during and after procedures. His clinical interests include total joint arthroplasty, including prosthesis design and biomechanics, as well as the development of safe total joint care pathways that emphasize efficiency, multimodal pain management, rapid recovery, modifiable risk factors, patient education and patient expectations.

“My practice philosophy focuses on a patient-centered approach. I believe that every patient is unique and requires goals and treatment plans specific to helping them succeed. I strive to connect with, and listen to patients. Together, we can formulate a practical, individualized plan that each patient can understand and follow. As goals are achieved, or conditions change, this allows the plan to evolve as needed. This joint decision-making process assures that the patient is always on board with, and aware of their own plan to improve their quality of life.”

Dr. McCoy loves pizza. He enjoys making it, eating it, talking about it and trying it at any and all restaurants. In addition to eating pizza, when not working Dr. McCoy spends his time with his family, staying active outdoors and trying out new hobbies, which have recently included pickleball and astrophotography.
